At the beginning of the sixties, in the heart of Sicily, in a land that expresses wealth, scents and traditions, the Bagliesi Organic Farm was born, a natural evolution of a family tradition. Now in its third generation, today it is interpreted in an innovative way by the owner Vito Bagliesi and his family. Spread over twenty-five hectares, in the province of Agrigento, twenty of which are located in the Cammuto area of Naro and five located in the Giangaragano district of Ravanusa, it expresses great fertility through mixed variety vineyards.
The latter, reared in Espalier, are the result of an accurate and rigorous Organic Agriculture, characterized by a meticulous working process that goes from thinning to harvesting the grapes by hand, with the precise aim of transmitting to our wines those unmistakable characteristics that are the peculiarity of the vines planted in the land of Sicily.
The vines that characterize our vineyards are: Nero D’Avola, Grillo and Catarratto, among the natives, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, among the international ones. The winery that dominates our land guarantees, with a state-of-the-art technological system, the control of production processes during the winemaking stages.
The history of the Bagliesi company and its wines are inseparable from this territory, the hills of central southern Sicily, inhabited first by the Greeks, by the Romans, by the Saracens and then by the Byzantines, has always been considered among the most suited to the cultivation of the vine. and in particular of Nero D’Avola, of which this area with a Mediterranean climate expresses its absolute excellence. The soils, purely calcareous-clayey, about 15 km from the sea and from the Valley of the Temples, have an altitude of about 360 meters above sea level.
