Chateauneuf du Pape Box

The Châteauneuf-du-Pape (CDP) winegrowers union was founded in 1923, with Baron Le Roy as President. Their efforts to promote and protect the quality of their wines have played a significant role in the region’s continued success. Thanks to Baron Le Roy’s expertise and enthusiasm, the French court of last resort defined appellation boundaries and production conditions in 1933.  The efforts of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape winegrowers union paved the way for the creation of a nationwide set of appellation regulations, and their example was soon followed by many other French vignerons.  

This Wine box demonstrated the variation of CDP that makes the area interesting, one is full body with intensity. It is powerful and with the ageing in Oak to create complexity and depth! But the other has more velvet mouthfeel, acidity and fruitiness, where oak ageing is not being used and it demonstrated the capability as fine pairing with local cuisines.
