It is the most widely used white grape variety in the appellations of Bierzo, Valdeorras and Ribeira Sacra, although we may find it in other regions.
|DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN:?Bierzo
AGE OF THE VINEYARD:? more than 60 years old bush vines
SOILS: Slopes with clay and slate
|ALTITUDE:?450 to 600 meters.
In El Bierzo, the altitude largely determines the characteristics of the varieties.?The great valley of Bierzo and its lateral valleys offer us multiple possibilities to work with the same variety.?From floral wines to concentrated and mineral wines.
Being an old and very old vineyard, the usual conduction of the vine is what we call the glass.?For this reason, our harvests are made entirely by hand, without a machine, in order to ensure the highest quality of the grape.
Cold maceration for 3-5 days. 50% of the grapes fermented in concrete tanks and the other 50% in French oak barrels for 10 days. Drink over the next 6 years.
|TASTING NOTES: Straw-yellow colour with golden hue. Intense and complex bouquet with stone fruit and citrus aromas, white flowers and chamomile and hints of honey and anise. ?Lively, crisp and mineral with a well-balanced freshness. It is round, elegant and creamy with earthy and mineral notes (reminiscent of its terroir). Lingering finish.|
