This is the main red variety of the Berciano vineyard. Its characteristics range from herbal and floral notes to wines with an enormous fruit load and marked mineral character. In our different wines you can see the different properties.

AGE OF THE VINEYARD: 65 to 85 years in glass
SOILS: Clay with slate on the slope
|ALTITUDE: 450 to 600 meters.
In El Bierzo, the altitude largely determines the characteristics of the varieties. The great valley of Bierzo and its lateral valleys offer us multiple possibilities to work with the same variety. From floral wines to concentrated and mineral wines.
Being an old and very old vineyard, the usual conduction of the vine is what we call the glass. For this reason, our harvests are made entirely by hand, without a machine, in order to ensure the highest quality of the grape.
|PREPARATION: Cold maceration of the grapes for 3 to 5 days. Alcoholic fermentation took place in concrete tanks for 20 days and malolactic fermentation for 8 days. Aged for 4 months in French oak barrels.|
Cherry red color with intense violet hues. Aroma of ripe red and black fruits, mineral and floral nuances. In the mouth it is velvety and fleshy, memory of the land.
